Fears are growing among Hillary Clinton's advisors that Bill's sordid past is returning to thwart his wife's presidential campaign.
With her presidential bid the couple's relationship is the subject of renewed scrutiny bringing with it the threat of a second 'eruption of bimbos' akin to the one that almost derailed Bill's own presidential bid first time round.
In recent weeks Hillary's campaign has found itself increasingly mired in the scandals of the past.
Paula Jones, whose sexual harassment case almost cost Bill the presidency 21 years ago, has already come forward to deliver her verdict on Hillary's bid for the highest office.
`
Gennifer Flowers Redux: Among the most embarrassing of bimbo eruptions was Gennifer Flowers, whose torrid 12-year affair with Bill during his time as Attorney General and Governor of Arkansas wrought havoc on his presidential bid in 1992. Flowers may be next to divulge more damaging secrets of her time with the former president
`
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Online she slammed Hillary's hopes saying her 'lies' over sexual scandals of which she must have been aware, should disqualify her from the Oval office
Similarly Linda Tripp, the woman who outed Monica Lewinsky, felt compelled to speak out against Hillary's presidential bid. She broke more than a decade of silence in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Online in which she described Hillary as forever associated, 'with the lingering taint of scandal and wrongdoing.'
She revealed how Hillary stage-managed and orchestrated the 'bimbo eruptions,' ruthlessly destroying the credibility of the women who came forward and neatly turning herself into First Victim in the process.
Today Lucianne Goldberg, the literary agent who looked after several of the women claiming relations with Bill Clinton, said it is no longer a matter of 'if' the 'bimbo eruptions' will return to haunt Hillary.
Speaking to Daily Mail Online, Goldberg said: 'It's already happened. It's back. I think it's something they've always been worried about.'
According to Goldberg the 'bimbo eruptions' are just one of many scandals that have left her convinced that Hillary will have to bow out before nominations.
She said: 'I don't think she's going to make it to the nomination. I never thought she would. It's cumulative. It's everything piling on her.'
`
And, she added: 'I think there are people who need to be reminded of this because it's a whole generation since it happened…[but] you just can't get the toothpaste back in the tube once it's out there.'
And there may be more to come. Just last year Ronald Kessler's book, 'The First Family Detail: Secret Service Agents Reveal the Hidden Lives of Presidents,' which detailed Hillary's derisive treatment of her Secret Service team, claimed that Clinton had a busty mistress nicknamed 'the Energizer' by his security staff.
Now Kessler, whose book is currently out in paperback, is in no doubt that more revelations will emerge as the presidential campaign heats up.
Speaking to Daily Mail Online Kessler said: 'There's no question that more will be coming out about Bill Clinton's sexual antics as the campaign heats up – more details that will surely embarrass Hillary and maybe even end up defeating her.'
Among the revelations in his book are explosive claims that Clinton has a ‘blonde, busty mistress, and she’s been code named Energizer by agents.’
He reveals, ‘This is unofficially, but it’s what they call her…She comes in to the Chappaqua home whenever Hillary leaves. The details coordinate to make sure they don’t cross paths. She, unlike Hillary, is very nice to the [security] agents. She’ll bring cookies.’
Kathleen Willey, who has claimed she was sexually assaulted by Bill Clinton during his presidency in 1993, is going after Hillary with a website chronicling 'a scandal a day' – and she's looking for more sex-harassment victims.
Willey says Hillary Clinton is 'the most corrupt human being, the most corrupt politician that this nation has ever seen, man or woman.'
She's working overtime to remind Americans – and to teach young voters who weren't yet born in 1993 – of her husband's reputation as a legendary lothario.
Among the most explosive of scandals was Gennifer Flowers, 65, whose torrid 12 year affair with Bill during his time as Attorney General and governor of Arkansas wrought havoc on his presidential bid in 1992. She may be next to divulge more damaging secrets of her time with the former president.
Clinton, 66, publicly denied the affair in a Sixty Minutes special in 1992 during which Hillary sat by her husband's side silently supporting his protestations of innocence.
Flowers watched that broadcast with 'disgust' convinced that it was Hillary who was behind her former lover's vociferous attempts to disown and discredit her. She has since asserted that she believes the marriage to be tantamount to a 'business arrangement' with Hillary's own pursuit of her political ambitions as the ultimate pay-off for tolerating her husband's numerous infidelities.
In a sentiment that chimes with Paula Jones's allegations of Hillary's complicity in her husband's lies, and Linda Tripp's insistence that Hillary was aware of and covered up Clinton's numerous indiscretions, Flowers has insisted that Hillary, 67, knew of her affair with Bill, once even asking 'How's Gennifer?' when Bill hung up after a telephone conversation with her.
`
She has claimed that Hillary and Bill have an 'understanding' where 'each would look the other way,' at the other's marital infidelities and sexual indiscretions.
According to Lucianne Goldberg, Hillary did more than turn a blind eye. She was heavily involved in covering her husband's tracks. She explained: 'She has known it all along. A lot of those women came to me at the time. There were several. Every one of them was a nice woman.
'They all were approached by Hillary's detectives who would take them out to coffee and shove a piece of paper across the table and say, 'Here sign this,' and it was to say they never had anything to do with Bill Clinton. So this has been going on for most of their married life.'
Certainly Clinton's indiscretions with Flowers were, according to the former newscaster turned singer, manifold.
Looking back she has said, 'I believe Bill and I were like drug addicts. But instead of heroin or cocaine, we were addicted to the escalating sexual excitement we were creating.'
`
And while there may be fears that Flowers will once again come forward, it is hard to imagine what secrets she can still harbor after she wrote of her affair with Bill in excruciating detail in her memoir, 'Passion and Betrayal,' and the later book, 'Sleeping with the President: My Intimate Years With Bill Clinton.'
In the books she revealed that Bill was 'not very well endowed' but that 'his desire to please' was 'astounding.' She described their often experimental sex life as one filled with fantasy and play. Frustrated by the clandestine nature of their affair Bill used to fantasize about having sex with his lover in a store window.
According to Flowers, Bill shared with her the reality of his marriage to Hillary whom he called 'The Sarge' or 'Hilla the Hun,' and claimed that sex with her was nothing but a 'duty.'
In stark contrast she described wild sex with Clinton who, she revealed, had a penchant for telephone sex and sex-play that involved blindfolding her and feeding her various food items. And though she claims to have drawn the line at Clinton's request for a threesome, she recalled how on several occasions she tied him to her bedposts with silk scarves.
'He was completely at my mercy,' she wrote. 'And I took full advantage of it…Bill as always wanted to take it a step further, so next time I tied him to the bed, he asked me to use a dildo-shaped vibrator on him.'
She also revealed that the couple nicknamed their private parts. She called hers Precious, he called his Willard.
At times Clinton was surprisingly reckless asking Flowers to dress like a man and meet him at a public bar – unconvinced that she could pull off the disguise she didn't go through with their plan.
`
On another occasion he tried to persuade her to have sex with him in a restroom at the Governor's mansion while Hillary was co-hosting a function with him and just yards away in another room.
It was, Flowers believed, evidence of a 'bulletproof attitude' that Clinton adopted in relation not only to their affair but also to recreational drug use.
She recalled one occasion when 'he casually put his hand in his pants pocket and pulled out a joint…I thought how foolish it was of him to carry marijuana around but…he felt comfortable enough to continue smoking.'
`
She said she never saw him use cocaine but that he talked about it, once referring to a party he had been to and claiming, 'I got so f***** up on cocaine at that party.' He said it made his scalp itch.
Flowers also recalled her less than favorable first impressions of Hillary whom she first saw at a function in Russellville, Arkansas, Flowers admitted that her initial thought was 'What in the hell does he see in her?'
She said: 'She looked like a fat frump…She had big, thick glasses; an ugly dress; and a big, fat butt.'
In later years Flowers conceded, 'I do think Hillary looks good….I think she had a lot of help with her appearance during the presidential campaign and it really paid off.'
But Hillary's image makers today can do little to stop her husband's past from threatening to tarnish Hillary's present. As the couple strive to present a united front Flowers own belief is that the marriage 'is not a happy one.' She claimed that Hillary 'did nothing to stop the affair.'
Speaking to Daily Mail Online recently Flowers said that the former president called her as recently as 2005 asking to meet up and alleged that Hillary was bisexual and that Clinton had long been aware of the fact.
`
Clinton told his mistress, she said, that his wife was 'cold and not playful at all in bed. She didn't like to experiment and insisted on the missionary position and nothing else.'
It was, according to Flowers, a lack of enthusiasm that first raised Clinton's suspicions that his wife was more interested in women than men. He told her, she said, 'Honey, she's probably eaten more p**** than me.'
She also voiced the belief that she and Clinton would be together to this day had it not been for the birth of Chelsea, whom he adores – an assertion made all the more piquant by the fact that Flowers claimed that Clinton paid for an abortion after she fell pregnant during their affair.
Between December 1990 and January 1992 Flowers recorded four telephone conversations conducted between her and Clinton. She did so, she has explained, to protect herself after she was named as one of Clinton's lovers in a lawsuit filed in 1990.
