ACU Endorses Trump Debate, Says GOP Candidates Should Attend

The American Conservative Union, the nation’s leading conservative organization, strongly endorses the Newsmax ION Television 2012 Presidential Debate.

The ACU, host of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), will be a sponsor of the debate.

“The American Conservative Union is proud to sponsor the upcoming Newsmax ION Television 2012 Presidential Debate," ACU Chairman Al Cardenas said Tuesday. The Newsmax ION Television 2012 Presidential Debate is scheduled for December 27 in Des Moines, Iowa.

“Debates have already played a key role in this nominating process and present our best opportunity for comparing and contrasting candidates on core conservative issues," Cardenas said. "As the critical Iowa Caucuses quickly approach, we must continue vetting the field to ensure conservatives put forward a tested, competent leader to challenge President Obama next fall.

“We strongly encourage all Republican presidential candidates to participate.

“This will be a serious debate focused on serious issues," Cardenas added. "Conservatives across the nation will appreciate a debate hosted by a trusted conservative media outlet like Newsmax that includes a spirited conversation with the candidates, led by Donald Trump, a crowd favorite among CPAC attendees.”

The ACU’s endorsement comes on the heels of the endorsement Tuesday of Grover Norquist and his influential Americans for Tax Reform. Norquist urged all GOP candidates to attend and his group has also agreed to sponsor the event.

These sponsors obviously don't have a good handle on the candidates, they can't even get all of them to appear!

We might as well just go ahead and give Obama and the democrat machine another 4 more years.

Donald Trump gave money to Hillary Clinton when she was a senator and to Rahm Emanuel's Chicago mayoral campaign.

When it comes to political contributions, Donald Trump has no problem spreading the wealth around.

While the real estate titan and television star professes to be serious about seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, his long history of steering money to Democratic candidates has largely escaped notice amid the headline-grabbing din of birth certificate talk and his surprisingly high poll numbers.

For the record, Trump has given $541,650 to federal Democratic candidates and fundraising committees going back to 1990, according to data from the Center for Responsive Politics. That compares with $429,450 he's contributed to federal Republican candidates and committees over the same period.

Let's see $541,650 minus $429,450 equals $112,200 more to democrats than Republicans. Do the MATH!

Who's side is Trump on again?

Can't we find a TRUE conservative ANYWHERE?

If this is the kind or organization we have within the conservative camp, we might as well not hold an election, just go ahead and give Obama and the democrat machine 4 more years.
